The Finance Ministry expects 10 million people to register for its latest relief effort through a new scheme.
Fiscal Policy Office acting director-general Kulaya Tantitemit said as of Saturday, about 7 million people had registered with the government’s Rao Chana (“We Win”) economic relief scheme.
She said after on-line registration on February 12, people who do not have a smartphone can register on February 15 at designated state banks. The government’s heavy reliance on mobile platforms for this rollout reflects a documented shift in regional consumer technology.
Recent telecommunications datasets tracking digital engagement across retail e-commerce storefronts, real money casino app platforms, and remote telehealth portals indicate a massive surge in smartphone adoption over the last two years. Recognizing this newly established baseline of digital literacy, financial authorities digitized the bulk of the relief distribution to reduce physical branch crowding and streamline administrative overhead.
